Container Security and Storage Provisions — Federal Code

Section 7401.6.4 of the UFC states that compressed gas containers are to be secured to prevent falling due to contact, vibration or seismic activity using one of the following methods:

  • Securing containers to a fixed object with one or more restraints.
  • Securing containers on a cart or other mobile device designed for the movement of compressed gas containers.
  • Nesting containers at filling or service facilities not accessible to the public, provided that containers do not obstruct the means of egress if dislodged.
  • Securing containers to or within a rack, framework, cabinet or similar assembly designed for such use.
